This weekend will see our Verona U14 Major team embark on an exciting action packed tour of Fleetwood Town in the English League Division One. The purpose of their visit will be to take part in an assessment match against the Fleetwood Town U14 academy team and receive numerous high quality professional coaching sessions from the Fleetwood staff at their impressive Poolfoot Farm training complex.
As special guests the players will also have access to strength and conditioning work and have a unique Q&A session on life as a professional footballer with Irish Fleetwood player Cian Bolger who starred in the recent FA Cup tie against West Ham.
As part of the trip they will also attend the English Premier League match between Everton and Crystal Palace and have a behind the scenes tour of Old Trafford Stadium. The squad will also be staying in the Hilton hotel to ensure the players get to relax and unwind in luxury surroundings following their exertions.
On their last visit to Stoke City in 2016 the team returned home with an incredible 5-1 victory over their academy side so no pressure on the team on this occasion :-) Whatever the outcome it will be a wonderful experience for every player and the chance to develop their skills in preparation for a tough season ahead.
This trip of a lifetime was made possible by the fantastic work from the team's parents who fundraised for the best part of a year including the organisation of a fantastic race night, making it affordable for every player to travel. Thank you to those parents who gave up so much time and energy and to the sponsors who we will mention at a later date who helped to raise those vital funds.
Stay tuned for updates from their exciting tour over the course of the weekend.
